Jase is going to the homecoming dance this year. For those who don't know, this is an overblown waste of time to celebrate the end of football season or coming back to school or some shit. I don't know really. When I was in high school in the olden days of the 80s, our homecoming was more a jock/cheerleader/theater-kid thing; of which, I was not.
Also, back in my day (do you hear the rocking chair?), homecoming was "semi-formal" which means girls get all dolled up, boys wear a jacket and tie. Around here, it seems to mean "khakis and shirt" (that seems "casual" to me).
But, I done raised my son up right. He did some yard work over the summer and paid for his and his girlfriend's tickets to the dance and bought himself a suit. I spotted him a few bucks because after buying the suit he was a couple bucks short for a black button-down shirt. His younger sister, Ceej, used to wear ties all the time and has a collection of odd patterned or coloured ties, so she let him choose one. He chose hot pink. And he's wearing his black (with faint white pinstripes) Converse high-top sneakers.
The first pose is the "serious pose" for mom. The rest are just Jason.
